Rajini Anna Kabali (1st & 2nd) Day Collection Breaks All Box Office Records :- Rajinikanth, Winston Chao and Radhika Apte starrer Tamil-language gangster-drama film Kabali has been released this week in theatres worldwide, Made by a budget of Rs 100 crore this regional language movie has recovered almost more than half of the money spent on its making. Looking at the way this movie has kicked off it seems that this film will break the records of all the previous blockbuster Tamil movies.


Rajinikanth’s “Kabali” has got a flying start at the box office worldwide. The Tamil movie has done an approximate collection of Rs. 21.5 crore, thereby breaking all the opening day business records of Kollywood films in Tamil Nadu.
“Kabali” has beaten the first day box office collection record of Ajith’s “Vedalam,” which had earned Rs. 15.5 crore on its opening day last Diwali, to become the biggest Kollywood opener of all time. The Rajinikanth-starrer has been released in over 550 screens in Tamil Nadu.

According to sources, the first day box office collection of Kabali is estimated to gross over Rs 70 crore. Over the weekend, the film is expected to surpass the total collections of some of the big films.

Kabali has already broken the first day box office collection record set by Aamir Khan’s PK and Salman Khan’s Sultan in the US, which garnered close to $1,418,817 and $784,194 respectively. Kabali’s box office collection from the premiere show in the US shows a whopping number close to 2 million dollars($1,922,995).

Speaking about the film’s box office collection, Vijay Singh CEO at Fox Star Studio was quoted by Economic Times as saying, “Kabali has lived up to the high expectation and opened to packed houses across India. It was expected to garner an earth shattering opening in the southern markets and it is indeed phenomenal due to the star power of Rajinikanth.”

“While the Tamil version opened to 90% occupancy, the Hindi version is seeing a massive 50% occupancy,” he added.

Kabali 2nd Day Business Details

Meanwhile, Kalaippuli S Thanu has told the Press Trust of India (PTI) that he is expecting the movie to gross over Rs. 100 crore at the box office. “It is god’s blessing that the film is doing so well. The collection is amazing not only in India but all over the world. Language does not seem to be a barrier as everyone is coming to see the film.” If this turns out to be true, then it will be the biggest Indian opener of all-time in India.

“It has created history and an all time record all over the world. The collection figure is awaited but I am assuming it has easily made Rs 100 crore on the first day,” he further added.

Rajinikanth’s star power has worked big time as “Kabali” as the multilingual movie has registered above 90 percent (on an average) occupancies in the key centres, thereby doing a record business worldwide on the opening day.
The movie was released in over 4500 screens worldwide in three versions (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) on Friday, July 22. The advance booking for tickets in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and some foreign countries was met with huge success, hinting that the film will witness an earth-shattering business at the box office on the first day.

On Saturday Kabali 2nd day overall occupancy rate has been recorded around 95% which is quite amazing as almost every single show of this film from morning till evening went housefull. Blockbuster movies like Sultan are currently getting totally dominated by this South movie.
