#JNUROW : Umar Khalid & Anirban Bhattacharya Surrender Pics & Full Details 24 Feb 2016 :- Prime suspects of treason and raising anti Indian slogans at Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi named Umar Khalid & Anirban Bhattacharya have finally surrendered in front of Delhi Police on 23 Feb 2016 at around 11:35 AM in the night after which they were being taken to Vasant Vihar Police Station for interrogation and questioning on the issue as the charges against both of them are quite serious.
Khalid and Bhattacharya have been booked for sedition for allegedly raising ‘anti-national’ slogans in the campus. Earlier in the day, the Delhi High Court asked them to surrender before police and follow due procedure of law. Khalid and Bhattacharya had moved petitions seeking permission to surrender before the High Court and “safe passage” from the JNU campus to the court premises, alleging there was “threat to life and limb”.
As per insiders both of them will be produced at the Patiala House Court Wednesday afternoon where the police are likely to ask for their custody.
