Jammu and Kashmir Govt Internet Restoration Order 15 Jan 2020 Full Details :- Home Department of Government of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a new order on 15 January 2020 regarding the boardband internet restoration in Kashmir valley and 2G mobile internet restoration on postpaid networks in the various districts of Jammu Division. This order will remain in force for one week unless modified by the Govt during this time.
As per the order, 2G mobile connectivity on post paid for accessing white-listed sites, including e-banking, shall be allowed, to begin with, in the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi. However Users won’t be able to access Social Media sites from Mobile Internet as ISPs have been instructed to put firewalls. It will enable access to “white-sites” only.
Speaking of Valley, Restoration of broadband internet in Kashmir will be partial- for essential services like govt offices, banks, hospitals, hotels ( much of this was already working); also e banking etc. For now no social media sites can be accessed.
Internet service providers will provide broadband facility (with Mac-binding) to all the institutions dealing with essential services, hospitals, banks etc. as also Govt offices, and in order to facilitate tourism, to hotels and tour & travel establishments.
As per SC directions this order will be further reviewed in a week from tomorrow so further relaxation is expected. Well these are the good signs as it seems that things are going in the right direction. So if everything remained alright we might see full high speed mobile internet restoration in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir in the coming few weeks.
